Controller and scope
SmartAdvisorOnline is the controller for this website. This policy applies to the public website, articles, VPN and privacy tools, lab pages, affiliate redirect buttons, cookie choices and contact requests. It does not cover third-party websites, VPN providers, streaming platforms, app stores or payment pages that you may open from our links.
Data we may process
We may process server logs, IP address, requested URL, timestamp, HTTP status, referrer, browser and device information, approximate region, security events, cookie-consent choice, analytics events after consent, affiliate outbound click events, and information you send through a contact request. We do not intentionally collect special-category data and we do not ask for passport, payment card or account credentials on this site.
VPN tools and lab measurements
Speed, DNS leak, WebRTC, streaming-diagnostic and lab widgets may process technical signals needed to show the result you requested, such as latency, jitter, detected DNS resolver, browser capabilities, IP-derived approximate location, user agent and test timestamps. These checks are for diagnosis and education, not for identifying a person.
Purposes and legal bases
We process technical logs to deliver pages, prevent abuse, secure the service and debug errors on the basis of legitimate interests. We store strictly necessary choices, such as cookie consent, because the service needs them to function. We use analytics only after consent. We process contact messages to answer the request and, where needed, to keep a limited record of the communication. Retention
Server and security logs are kept only for a reasonable operational period needed for security, abuse prevention and debugging, then deleted or aggregated. Consent choices remain until you change or clear them. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to answer and maintain a reasonable record. Aggregated analytics may be retained longer when it no longer identifies an individual.
Sharing and international transfers
Data may be processed by hosting, security, analytics, CDN, email, affiliate and technical service providers. Some providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer safeguards such as adequacy decisions, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent contractual protections.
Your rights
Depending on the situation, you may have rights to access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent. You also have the right to complain to the ICO. Because we minimise account-level data, we may need enough information to verify and locate a request before we can act on it.

SmartAdvisorOnline is aimed at adults and general technical readers. We do not knowingly target children or knowingly collect children's data.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards such as HTTPS, limited collection, access control, server logging for security and consent-first analytics. No website can guarantee perfect security, but we design the site to reduce unnecessary data exposure.
